"Republican's and Democrat's are both corrupt. No difference. I do wish the article at least made an attempt to get a response from the Republican leadership for their reasons. Yes, it will be a B$ answer but I would love to hear it anyhow. It is usually a good gauge as to how little respect our leaders have for our intelligence. " You've got that right! 90% of them should be voted out!

I have friends on the south shore here on Long Island who are terrified at the prospect of having oil hit the gulf stream and wind up hitting the beaches here. The Hampton's will be trashed as will Fire Island. At this point, I cannot imagine how it will not make it here.

This leak [it's not a spill as they refer to it, and it's an ongoing leak still] shouldn't have happened in the first place and it shouldn't be an ongoing issue. This leak is going to continue for a few more weeks, possibly months because someone is in no hurry to get it capped, stopped, etc. We'll be cleaning this up for the next two years to a decade and we won't ever get it all!

That's right! That oil has to go somewhere. You, myself and others with many of similar interests and others realize this, others don't! As it is, we need that oil, too, yet we don't. We could have more than enough running off of natural gas, hydrogen and fuel economy could be 25 to 40% more than what is and has been through the last 30 years, but they don't want to do that because Big Oil is in the pockets of ALL the politicians to one degree or another. I'm all for businesses making a profit, all for drilling here at home, all for alternative energy, etc. I'm not for the greed, not following standards, taking precautions, etc.

Concerning the article on 'Oil settles 2 percent lower...' You made the comment "It appears to be up 2% today." The price always fluctuates during the day, we usually mark the closing price and look at the longer term trend, but maybe you are just looking for the negative.

Your local dealreship will do just fine selling Hondas and performing regular maintenance work. GM will continue to provide warranty assistance on Saabs as well.

I have been looking at the Toyota Venza. Even took it for a test drive, but couldn't agree on a trade-in price for my car. Venzas are a little larger than the Prius, but I like the looks of the Prius and of course, the MPG. I am not in a hurry so I can weigh all my options before I write that big check! I want something a little bigger than I have just in case I have to take my parents, my dog, & luggage out of here because of a hurricane. I think if it was just my dog & me I would get the Prius now.
